Amidst much fanfare and political dignitaries, Rajashekar starrer Satyameva Jayate launched. Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy graced the launching ceremony that was held at a five star hotel on Saturday, June 21, 2008. The film is directed by Rajashekar’s wife Jeevitaa. Both Rajashekar and Jeevita are now closely interacting with Chief Minister and the ruling Congress party. There is also talk that they might join the party and contest in the coming elections. Giving credence to the talk, CM and other congress leaders attended the function.
Satyameva Jayate is remake of Hindi film – Khaki. But Jeevitaa denies it as remake. “We just took the slice of the story like we did for our earlier hit Evadaitey Nakenti (which was based on a Malayalam film.”
The film stars Shivaji and Sanjana (romantic interest to Rajashekar). It also introduces Bollywood actor Milind Soman to Telugu films.
